Sector Source is a mostly free resource site and library for charities and nonprofits.
Explore recommended resource lists in the Managing an Organization section and the latest research on Canada's 82,000+ charities and nonprofits.
The searchable library database (the John Hodgson Library collection), is a window into the vast array of practical tools and research for charities and nonprofits in Canada. This is the most-comprehensive collection of Canadian resources covering the following areas: governance and accountability; philanthropy and fundraising; organizational management; human resources; and volunteerism.
Am I able to check out books?
At this time, the library only lends materials to Imagine Canada members. However, we would be happy to help you locate materials through other organizations in the Nonprofit Library Network. We also recommend visiting a public library in your area and using their inter-library loan program.
Do you sell books at the library?
Not at this time.
Are there fees?
Access to the online library and collection is free. However, there are certain services exclusive to Imagine Canada members and there is a fee associated with Imagine Canada membership. We charge nominal fees for copying and printing materials (cash payment required) and we will issue receipts.
When can I visit the library?
The Imagine Canada - John Hodgson Library is no longer open to visitors. If you require assistance from an Imagine Canada staff to locate a piece of research please email info@imaginecanada.ca
Am I able to order periodical articles?
No. To order copies of articles or back issues of periodicals, you will need to contact the publisher directly.
Can I use Grant Connect (formerly known as the Canadian Directory to Foundations and Corporations) at your library?
Grant Connect can be viewed by virtual tour or by appointment. Grant Connect is also widely available in public libraries.
